Watch this video of BigDog, the robot pack animal

BigDog has been improved. It now carries 340 lbs. on ice, through snow, over obstacles, and can even jump over things.

BigDog just got a job with the US Marines.

It looks like they want a version that can carry 400 pounds of cargo, and travel 20 miles without refueling. And, I'd imagine, one that's a little less noisy.
