Scientific American has published what they think are the "10 Biggest Science Stories of 2008" on their website. So, if you have an amazing discovery, wait until 2009 to publish. Much like the Oscars, it is all about timing. Check out the Scientific American online article here.

You know what's cool? Buzzketeers wrote about some aspect of at least 9 of the top 10 stories listed by Scientific American.
