I don't know if this helps, but I remember seeing a show on crop circles few years back. It explained that majority of crop circle designs are the result of natural phenomena, where weather plays a large role in how geometry is laid out. Something having to do with ionic disruption between air and ground (if I remember correct), which can cause patterns to occur in symmetrical formation. This formation can be fed into a computer and calculated at a mathematical level, aside from that however. There is still a minority of crop circles that are unexplainable, circles carved into the earth as if they truly are something from outer space. Whether the phenomena is natural or unnatural it still does not answer the hard boiled questions surrounding crop circles to begin with, I think its a matter of "playing a waiting game" being a witness to crop circles being created is probably the only real way to understand them.
