How cool was that? Lucky for these guys they don't have some annoying lifeguard telling them to stop splashing.
I was particularly surprised to see the section where the young bulls were mock-mounting each other. It got me thinking about other ways that elephants play. I found this interesting paper about play in elephants (PDF download) from the site, Elephant Voices with lots more information on this sort of play. It's fascinating to see all the different patterns of complex play that elephants engage in.
Oh and I forgot to say: my favorite play category in elephants is "floppy running." Isn't that a great name? From the above linked PDF:
