So, naturally, the US Navy has developed a high energy laser that can be mounted on a ship and used to fight off attacking boats. The laser can disable outboard engines by setting them on fire. That's the other thing pirates hate: fire. Ha ha!
PS—Not that lasers aren't awesome, and not that I advocate more shooting things with guns, but how is this better than shooting things with guns? Any laser enthusiasts out there? Pirates? Pirate enthusiasts? Sailors? Explain!
