I can't believe no one has posted on this yet. I got this link from a friend's Facebook... ASPEX, a scanning electron microscope (SEM) Elemental Analysis company, is taking submissions from anyone for scanning. That's right...want to know what a marshmallow peep looks like under a SEM? A post it note? A fly's eyeball? If you can send it in to them, they'll eventually scan it and let you see the image.

Cool, I say.

Joe, thanks for posting this. I just mailed them a sample of the iridium layer from the Cretaceous-Tertiary (K-T) boundary I collected in southern Colorado last spring. I want to see if there is indeed evidence of shocked quartz in the sample, which would indicate an asteroid/meteor impact back 65 million years ago. I will keep you posted.
