Global warming is a real problem that plagues us today. The polar ice caps are melting and eventually New Yourk City will be underwater if we don't do anything about it. I don't know how to make a poll but give me your opinion.

You've got an interesting subject here, jjon1011, and it'll be interesting to see what other people think.

It'd be good, though, if you could link to some information about the science behind global warming, or a climate model that really does predict cities being flooded. Do a web search, and see if you can find out what different scientists are saying about global warming now, and if you can find anything cool you should put it here.

Thanks for posting!

The entire world needs to unite and find a solution for this problem otherwise we are not going to be here for long.

Global climate change is a subject that we've talked about on this site a bunch.

Back in 2005, we did a Science Buzz exhibit on the topic.

There's been a lot of debate, back and forth, about whether or not the rise in temperature is human-caused. Or whether it's even a real problem.
"Global warming skepticism"
"Has global warming stopped?"
"Global warming: the debate continues"
"Who's afraid of a little global warming?"

We've also posted stories about ongoing research into the problem and what we might do.
"Getting the burps out of old Bessie"
"Wind powers up jobs in Faribault, MN"

We've talked about the impact of global climate change on animals and environments.
"The tyrrany of King Penguins waning with global warming"
"Narwhal troubles: global climate change would hit them hardest"
"Siberia is warming up"

Hey, it even has an impact on sports!
"Global warming affects the sports world"

And all these links were just cherry-picked from the first three of 12 pages of stories tagged "global warming." You could also search for the tag "climate", "climate change", or "temperature".

it is true we should do something about global warming , it is very important and alot of people think that it is not important but it people could die if it happens, but there isnt much we can do about it except we could not use so many cars and big trucks and stop polluting the earth it will help global warming.

Actually, the ice caps are growing in the Arctic and the Antarctic. Even the glaciers in Alaska are growing.
