Prisca Cushman, physics professor at the University of Minnesota, is part of a team conducting one of the most sensitive experiments ever devised. They are looking for WIMPs—Weakly Interacting Massive Particles, objects so small they can pass between atoms without touching them. If Cushman and her team can prove WIMPs exist, it will fundamentally change our understanding of how the Universe works.
