Everything that makes sound vibrates. The strings on a guitar, the hollow body of a bell, the alarm on your microwave, and the speakers on your computer all vibrate to produce sound. Change the length of the strings or the shape of the bell, or alter the electrical signal going to the alarm or the speakers, and you change the character of the sound. If you can figure out how to make the right changes, anything that makes sound can become your musical instrument.
That’s what Tim Kaiser does. He finds the music in everyday technology.
