Science for engineering, engineering for people

Science and engineering are often linked, but a scientist and an engineer aren’t necessarily the same thing. Science attempts to understand the world as it is, and engineering always aims to create something new to the world using what science has learned. The aim of engineering might be a new invention, or a new way of doing something, or a solution to a unique set of problems.

Everyone has the capacity to be some kind of engineer, but many communities have to focus all of their problem-solving on simply getting by day to day. Engineers Without Borders helps connect people and resources to areas where a little extra expertise and some locally available technology can enable a community to create facilities that will foster health, education and equality for years to come.
