Oh Cicadas... well let's just say life would not be nearly the same without them (wink) One of my lads studied 'em back in the day... learned a bit from him about their habits, specification, food, predators, and reproduction. Really intricate stuff.

In our house we called them zoo zooers. When grandma hear the zoozooers in the summer time, then fall was just about 6 weeks away. Now that my grandmother is gone, it is my turn. I keep a record of when I hear them each year. Guess what? They have been within 2 days of the same time every year!

Why do people think these things are so ugly! They are harmless. And I've seen wasps eating them when they first hatched and can't fly.
