i have a couple teachers that are like friends and i do better in their classes than in other ones. i feel more comfortable with these teachers so im not as scared to ask questions or anything
There was a study done about teacher and student relationship, and it shows that with a positive relationship between students and teachers, there is an increase in academic and grades from these students.
If more teachers would take time with the student to understand the entire student, home, school, social structure, ect then more students would try harder. I realize with the cut backs and oversized classes this is not possible. But isn't it a grand idea?
It's True About what you said that the classroom is big, and when a classroom is big it's a oversize full of students.
I think that some students are trying hard but then they are scare to ask questions, and then if they ask the teacher they still won't get it. So that would require some time alone talking to the teacher after school or something. If they need help they should at least go see the teacher, and yeah it's true about what you said if the teacher would just get to know you than rather just judging you by how you already act like.
understanding home is good because sometimes things at home can effect on how you act at school, so teachers should know you have a life out of school too
What's a "realtionship"? What's a "reltionship" Sorry, I'm just a grammar/spelling nazi. To be back on topic, I don't have relationships with teachers outside of the requisite school relationships. I generally have good relationships with my teachers, but I wouldn't call them my friends. Also, there are a few teachers I dislike, but I don't insult them to their face or anything like that. My parents and friends are much more influential to me than my teachers, partly since I only meet a teacher for one hour a day.
I agree too. Also when you connect with your teacher a lot people would think that your a teacher pet or something and I don't think its good for you to get close to any of your teachers at all.

I agree with you that you would do better in classes that have teacher that you like.

I have a teacher who cares a lot about me and how I do in school. So I think that they should care and help you with anything.

I agree when my teachers say this, because i wouldn't want them to think i was trying to be anything more than their student
