Look at the Science house. We know how to build things like solar panels and geothermal energy, but they are not utilized. If every house had solar panels on the roof and was heated with geothermal energy, we could save tons of energy. It would also create jobs in our crappy economy.

Reduction of consumption is a worthwhile goal regardless of the effect of humans on the planets climate. Destruction of land and natural resources is the inevitable result of human consumption. However to enact legislation based on fear mongering and shady science is foolhardy and destructive to our economies if they are untrue and work towards an unwarranted end. Siphoning off trillions (yes it will end up being trillions) from the world economy will hamper progress in every single area but energy. At the very least there should be an absolute full and constant effort to find and re-verify the source of climate change in relation to it's cost. Nothing short of this will provide a workable solution.

I think we should do more on our part rather than the government send fundings to us. We can do just as much as the gov. can just because we are low on money does not mean we can not do more on our part we can reuse reduce and recycle

The truth is, we don't know.

The climate models that predict huge global warming are at best, as good as the ones that predict the weather, and those are only accurate up to a couple of weeks.

I voted for other because on the way to help our beautiful earth that god made us is bye taking care of it in easy ways... if you can walk somewhere instead of drive...DO... if you have trash, throw it away in a waste basket, NOT on the ground. small stuff such as those two examples can make our earth an even better place to live!! so help out, even the smallest most littlest thing that you do, it can improve our earth a lot.

Alternative energy sources are the way to go. they emit far less toxins and are just as efficient.

I think we should fund alternatitive fuels, bestricter on enviromental laws, and all of the above, as well as develop greener technology.

If by do nothing you also imply not increasing the rate of carbon emissions or the rate of water consumption/pollution, in other words, keep everything at a stand still, then fine by me, but if you intend to figure out a solution to an ever growing population and ever decreasing resources then may I suggest NOT doing nothing.

I belive that if we increase funding for alternate energy resources that we will be able to then phase out the use of coal burning plants and reduce the emissions from cars as well. If we have the support to change our ways we can forge the way for our children

i guess that is true..but little things have a big impact on our lives and we don't even realize it that is why it so hard to solve things.

I wish people could face the fact that overpopulation stems these problems. We need a combined approach that reduces total CO2 emissions and this is not a present or natural cycle. The rate of increase of CO2 is dramtically higher then ever before going back 100,000's of years due to human activities. This is to say nothing of the destruction and animal and human suffering occuring. PLease see "Inconvient Truth"!! We willl soon se dramtic chnges that will effect all people including major sea leel rises-big ice sheets like Greenland are melting!
