What can we learn from figuring out the origins of the universe. Probably a lot. What can we do with this knowledge? there is so much to know !!!!!!!

There is no planet like earth!!!! Never will you find another planet like earth! This planet is unique and the Creator created this planet. You will not post this message, i know you wont. Science in the US is so pro-evolution. I am not saying you have to believe what i am telling you, that the earth was CREATED, i am saying at LEAST show both sides. This is gall beyond compare! AT LEAST SHOW BOTH SIDES!

Science in the US is pro-evolution. That's because all of modern biology rests on evolution, and it's the only theory available that's testable, through the processes of science. From a science perspective, there aren't "two sides." There is a scientific view, and a non-scientific view.

Science Buzz is a science blog, hosted by the Science Museum of Minnesota. Our community guidelines make our position on evolution clear.

But if you're interested in the societal arguments surrounding the teaching of evolution in America, you might check out Kenneth Miller's "Only a Theory: Evolution and The Battle for America's Soul."

How is global warming s problem, when we just had the coldest year in over a decade? By the way, polar bears have the largest population since we began counting them in 1925.

i think we (people) are responsible for globle warming... so its our job to fix it...by recycleing, saving water, etc.

I think that the large hadron collider is one of the most amazing scientific developments of 2008. The ability to see if the higgs particle and other particles exist is a immence ( ? ) discovery.

Stem cell research, although conroversial is, I believe one of the breakthrough sciences that will lead to new avenues in curing many diseases.

If stem cells are not used for experimenttion, they are discarded without being utilized at all and this I would consider to be a waste of resources.

once we learn the way the human body works we will be able to diagnose diseases easier. the aging process won't be as hard on the body...childhood cancer can be eliminated...possibly all cancer can be eliminated. what a concept.

I think that this is probably the biggest accievement, because if we manage to find a planet similar enough to ours, we would be able to either possibly find extraterestrial lifeforms or send out a colony ship to colonise a different planet. With the knowledge we now have about how to prevent toxic waste, to a certain extent, we might be able to avoid creating the same problems there that we created here on earth.

The question of wether we are alone in the universe is fundamental. Knowing there are other planets capable of supporting life is essential to answering that question

Finding life on other planets or planets that can support life is always important because if our sun blows up a thousand years from now where exactlywill we live??? on the moon??? All the planets-Mercury through Mars will be destroyed when thesun expands.
