Whether you like your steaks or stick to the veggies, meat consumption is a big issue. Does knowing more affect how you think about it? What's the best way to learn and make decisions about issues like these?
you should know that pasta has a lot of calories therefore you should not be eating so much pasta and that means that you should probably eat more meat than what you do i think that when you get the protien from that meat that you will be able to fight off the "horrible pains" and you can get medication from the pharmacy or your doctor.
That's crazy! you can't say that, we can get protein from milk, legumes, and other veggetables.
kale even has more protien than a serving of beef or pork enough for our daily need for vitamins and proteins. In addition, we actually get most of our proteins from vegetables. You are right that we don't get most of our proteins. One from that but most of our healthy proteins come from vegetables. you might think that meat eaters are healthy, but quite frankly, we are better off with veggies and other aimal products that don't involve killing any animal.
And afterall we don't havethe right to destroy other living things, we exist and i'll accept that fact but we are already doing enough damage to this planet and other species other than humans, even amongs ourselves acctually.
Wrong. You can get a lotof protien from other sources, and especially without all the fats that cause numerous health problems and waste our resources. Wake up!!!
this got me to think about what meat does to this planet next `time you guys eat meat think about what you are doing........meat is yummy so you should still eat it sometimes, but think about what you are doing too.......;)
i always do! i just wish that some people would realize that although meat is *really* good, it produces so many more emmissions. Try eating meatless 1 day a week- that's what i do
Meat is my WORST ENEMY! Even though I tried meat before, I'm a vegetarian, and I would NEVER eat meat, no matter how MUCH you beg for eating! Well, I rather eat fruits and veggies, all overcooked. um, not. SO, will YOU eat meat?
well to be healthy you have to eat meat not just pasta! duhh!!!!!! and that gives you alot of protien its ALOT more healthier then pasta is anyways! so get soome loser
why wouldnt you eat meat? i think its ridiculous that you think animals should be more supirior. cause in reality humans are and your lucky to be one. but honestly meat is good for you. great health. but dont get me wrong, you dont want to kill anything that is close to being endangered or anything ike that. but thats why we need to stoooop wasting all this beautiful country land and give a better life to the animals..but yet eat them.. lol
well meat is an exellent source of protein, and is far easier to raise than plants. all you have to do is a feed a couple times a week, and plants require constant watering and care. and to start a large field of crops you have to plant all these little seeds and to raise livestock, you buy two and they'll reproduce all on thier own.
It'd be great if someone with firsthand experience raising both animals and crops could contribute here, but I think you're only half right, Ben.
Raising a field of crops from seed isn't a super easy process, I'm sure, but you might be underestimating what it takes to raise livestock. Livestock, especially when you're dealing with lots of them, require their own facilities and equipment, and they need daily care. And they need food too. In fact, most of what we grow in this country is used as animal feed—for example, 80% of the corn we grow goes to feeding animals. (We only eat about 12%, and the rest goes to make fuel and other products.)
So meat production doesn't just require animal care, it requires all the effort of raising crops too! (This would be a little different if we only ate animals that got all their food from grazing, but, as I understand it, the quantity of meat we consume requires us to grow extra feed.)
people eat meat so they can get the protein they need if we dont get the protein our body will start taking the protein from our own body to survive and soon we will become way too tired to get up or even walk to the kitchen we wont have any energy and basically we will die. And FYI this is coming from a 15 year old biology student.
You're right—meat does contain a lot of protein. However, there are plenty of plants out there that do an excellent job of providing us protein. That's why vegetarian people (and animals) don't just waste away. Also, protein is mostly used by the body to build more body. It's carbohydrates (sugars and starches, etc) that mostly give us the energy to walk to the kitchen.
A couple more points: somewhere else in these comments, somebody makes the opposite point to yours—they say that you can get more protein from a serving of kale than you can from a serving of beef or pork. That's actually not true at all.
Also, I'd argue that the reason people eat meat generally isn't to get protein. I mean, they get protein nonetheless, but I think the motivation is more because it's a tradition in their family or culture, because they like the taste, because it's something people with money do, and we all want to be people with money, or because it's something they've always done, and we tend to keep doing the things we've always done. So it's not that the nutrition stuff isn't real, it's just that I think that point boils away pretty quickly when we look at why people eat what they eat.
I don't by it! Paleo diet (eating like of ancestors) Is the healthiest diet (what you eat) there ever was! People that eat grains have issues (think gluten free). Wild game, nuts, and berries are where its at!
Well meat will have protine but it has fat and if you don't have a gallbladder prepare for horribe pains. Well I rather eat pasta.
P.S. it was an odd servay.
i like sausages
RIBS AND BBQ R HE BEST
Ew

that is true, even though pasta is good, you should get the protein offered from the consumption of meat
YOU CAN*T GET THE PROTEIN FROM VEGTABLES
ALONE LIKE VEGETARIANS THINK!
That's crazy! you can't say that, we can get protein from milk, legumes, and other veggetables.

i agreewith the planet savig stuff, but i do love meat....
I THINK VEGGIES ARE THE SAME THING AS MEAT BECAUSE THE PROTIEN IN BOTH ARE VERY HIGH
Wrong. You can get a lotof protien from other sources, and especially without all the fats that cause numerous health problems and waste our resources. Wake up!!!
Wow i want me some beef!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i do love me some cow and piggy... even if it's rough on the planet to raise them. does a body good tho....
meat = good
this got me to think about what meat does to this planet next `time you guys eat meat think about what you are doing........meat is yummy so you should still eat it sometimes, but think about what you are doing too.......;)

pasta is not that great for you either it contains starch which you should not have too much of
MEAT IS THE BEST
THE MEAT HAS PROTIEN BUT THE FAT IS SO BAD FOR YOU THAT IT CAN MAKE YOU FAT
Thats why they call it fat.........
I agree but not all meat
Meat is good, and it's good for you, so why not eat it?
Meat encourages global warming! Think of what the polar bears are doing!
you spelt protein wrong. and pasta has a ton of carbs which will turn to fat aswell if you have too much.
I agree, I would rather eat pasta...
totally i hate meat its sad to think about all the animals...
-sydney (animal lover)
Meat is so gross! Might as well eat humans while youre at it.
I LOVE PASTA TOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Meat is my WORST ENEMY! Even though I tried meat before, I'm a vegetarian, and I would NEVER eat meat, no matter how MUCH you beg for eating! Well, I rather eat fruits and veggies, all overcooked. um, not. SO, will YOU eat meat?

meat is very stupid
i do believe that even though it doesnt make a big difference on our world today
*protein
i'll eat meat only on certain days because i don't want to eat it all the time so i dont always kill animals
I love meat and will eat it for every meal of every day
Meat is amazing, and I think that EVERYONE can eat it. Yea sure, it does have fat, but it is also sorta good for you.
Why the heck to people like meat? What is wrong with you?!? I mean, we kill way too many animals to spare!!! SHEESH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
well its sort of a way to keep the population down...
why wouldnt you eat meat? i think its ridiculous that you think animals should be more supirior. cause in reality humans are and your lucky to be one. but honestly meat is good for you. great health. but dont get me wrong, you dont want to kill anything that is close to being endangered or anything ike that. but thats why we need to stoooop wasting all this beautiful country land and give a better life to the animals..but yet eat them.. lol

true, but eating meat is a good source of protein, and it tastes yummy.
