Don't look at this if you're offended by dead things. Or if you're offended by dead things being a little boring—not much at all is happening with the pig at this point.
| There's really very little activity here. The maggots you see all seem to be dead, and we couldn't find any beetles, except for a couple of Asian lady beetles (or whatever they're called) and they were dead too. A few flies came to investigate the area, but they weren't sticking around long. | The whole pig: Here's the whole pig on day 27, 10/14/08 Courtesy Roger Barrett |
| The face. There was a nice piece of dangling tissue, and the empty eye-hole is sort of macabre, but there isn't much happening here, either. | The pig's face Courtesy Roger Barrett |
| There are some little holes in the dried skin on the neck/shoulders of the pig. Not sure if these are from maggots, or beetles, or what. Any thoughts? | Holes in the pig's neck and back Courtesy Roger Barrett |
| Pig guts, dry. | The pig's guts: Or what's left of them. Courtesy Roger Barrett |
| A sad little pig foot. Still in pretty good condition, compared to the rest of the body. | Rear hooves Courtesy Roger Barrett |
