Day Twenty-seven: 10-14-08

Don't look at this if you're offended by dead things. Or if you're offended by dead things being a little boring—not much at all is happening with the pig at this point.

There's really very little activity here. The maggots you see all seem to be dead, and we couldn't find any beetles, except for a couple of Asian lady beetles (or whatever they're called) and they were dead too. A few flies came to investigate the area, but they weren't sticking around long. The whole pig: Here's the whole pig on day 27, 10/14/08

The face. There was a nice piece of dangling tissue, and the empty eye-hole is sort of macabre, but there isn't much happening here, either. The pig's face

There are some little holes in the dried skin on the neck/shoulders of the pig. Not sure if these are from maggots, or beetles, or what. Any thoughts? Holes in the pig's neck and back

Pig guts, dry. The pig's guts: Or what's left of them.

A sad little pig foot. Still in pretty good condition, compared to the rest of the body. Rear hooves
