Where you can find me
What I do (my job):
Life learner
Where I do what I do:
The world
I wish I were an expert in:
Food preservation Gardening Bike repair
Dream jobs:
I heard about a person who lives full-time at Oliver H. Kelley Farm historic site and helps farm there and do interpretive, living history. That sounds like a dream job to me. I do a lot of volunteering at my local library, helping organize special events like bike education workshops and literary readings. I would love to organize special events at libraries as a full-time job, especially events that bring people together to collaborate in new and interesting ways.
Science in my life
What is science to you?:
Science is being willing to see mistakes and unexpected results as part of the process of discovery, and being more devoted to truth than to being right. The most exciting phrase in science isn't "Eureka!" It's "Hmm. That's strange. . . "
How do you use math in your daily life?:
I use it a lot to cook and can food and to play numerous board and card games with my son.
What technology do you use every day?:
My Apple computer!
Technology that drives me crazy:
I don't like the way smart phones disconnect people from what's actually happening in the concrete world around them.
