Comments I've made

Regarding your "nerdiness": not at all! That's totally the sort of thing I was hoping for. And if anyone else has spent time looking into the science of science fiction, consider yourself invited to...
Me? I'd probably just die right away. Weird, right? But, if I'm being honest with myself, I'm not an action hero like most of the people here. I'm mostly just a normal dude, and the vast, grim...
Ah, right, I forgot about that registration junk. But that's a really good point. The professor quoted behind the article kept using the example of a 10-cm-thick aluminum space ship hull, and how...
I know! We're going to be stuck on this lousy planet forever. sigh

How I use science

How do I user science in my job?
I'm an exhibit developer for the Science Museum of Minnesota. I try to interpret scientific research into fun and interesting exhibits for the museum, and into blog entries for the Science Buzz website.
How do I keep up with science and technology?
I read science news websites everyday.

Science LOVE vs. HATE

I wish I knew more about
Computer programming. And karate.

Biography

I wish I were an expert in:
Knife-throwing, I guess? Also, gardening. And Latin. And Latin dance.
Dream jobs:
British lord, paleontologist, antiquities dealer (black market)
About me
I've studied English literature and archaeology, so I know how to use a trowel incorrectly, and I'm nearly unemployable. But I'm full of good ideas. Like, have you ever heard the expression "a penny saved is a penny earned"? I made that one up. And now I have literally hundreds of dollars in the bank, so you be the judge of whether or not it was a good idea. Like Liza, I'm all about the giant squid and colossal squid. But I have a love/hate relationship with them—I love them because they're so bizarre and awesome, I hate them because they're mollusks. Mollusks are untrustworthy by their very nature. How can snails, clams and octopus belong to the same phylum? They're so weird. And some of them are intelligent. It's like sharing the planet with space aliens.

Science in my life

What is science to you?
Until I get accepted to Hogwarts, science seems like the next best thing. I mean, liquid nitrogen, titanosaurs, and electric guitars? Can't complain.
I would invent
Something that would allow me to go to the bathroom, without actually going to the bathroom. If you follow me. Also, are lightsabers real yet?
Technology I love
Super Nintendo, scissors, folding wallets. Ah, my mp3 player, I guess. Oh, also, modern medicine.
Technology that drives me crazy
My car's "check engine" light. I'm assuming there's technology working there, not just spite.
What technology do you use every day?
Belts, derailleur gears, DVDs, the freakin' Internet.
What math do you use every day?
The division of time. And ingredient ratios for delicious fruit smoothies.
