Computers, televisions, cell phones, and automated equipment make everything so convenient for us that we don't have to do much. We can get things done a lot FASTER. I'm not sure whether we will just...
I'm thinking this may not be the best idea... because inevitably the water is going to leak out onto other parts of the computer, and that spells disaster!
It is just amazing what they can do with science these days! Wow!
It'll make it taste better because there won't be any of the nasty freezer burn on the top of the ice cream anymore!

Mentor program

How long have you been mentoring?
Just started

How I use science

How do I user science in my job?
I have a chemical engineering degree & I am currently in an operations role. I use engineering & math everyday - whether it's determining ways to optimize production & assembly, or looking at project cost savings.
How do I keep up with science and technology?
Luckily, my job keeps me very informed with the latest technology. There are many emails sent throughout GE on the newest technologies & processes that are used all around the world. I also like to look at the Science section on Yahoo! to get the latest news.

Biography

I wish I were an expert in:
1) Fashion! I am seriously fashion challenged, but I love clothes & I would like to be more stylish.

2) Cooking... I am a horrible cook... I hardly can cook macaroni on the stove. Now that I am older I would love to be able to know what I am doing in the kitchen.

3) Electrical stuff - because I am totally clueless when it comes to anything to do with that electrical stuff.

Dream jobs:
I think one of the coolest jobs would be to be a teacher. I love being able to share what I know with other people & I love hearing different perspectives on life.

A really cool job would to be a tour guide of somewhere cool - like somewhere in Italy or even a New York City tour guide on one of those buses. You would have to switch it up a bit though so you didn't get too bored of any one area.
About me
I am a triplet! My sister, brother and I were born on the same day. We also have a younger brother. I am almost always HAPPY! I grew up in Burnsville, Minnesota. I went to the University of Minnesota Duluth & graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering. I just started a program with GE called OMLP (Operations Management Leadership Program). I will be working in Minnesota until August, then I move to a new location for a year. After 2 years, I graduate from the OMLP program & will probably get another role in GE Water.

Science in my life

What is science to you?
Science to me is being able to understand why things are the way they are. I always want to be able to explain how things work or how things are made - the weather, laundry machines, pop, clothes, etc...
I would invent
To make my life better, I would invent a time machine. I always seem to need more time in my life - whether it's to finish a homework assignment, spend more time with my family and friends, or sleep!
Technology I love
My favorite technology gadget are those GPS navigations that you can put in your car. Those come in handy!
Technology that drives me crazy
Video games drive me crazy! I don't like it when my brothers or my friends get so caught up in video or computer games that it consumes their lives & they won't pay attention to anything else. Although I like Guitar Hero & Rock Band & Wii games...
What technology do you use every day?
Every single day I use a laptop at work.
What math do you use every day?
I use math as an engineer at my job. I am constantly coming up with costs and savings for projects.
