What is science to you?:
Most importantly, science is a process. It constantly changes, allowing for new knowledge and understanding to replace outdated theories. That's exciting!
I also think that science is important in the decisions we make everyday and that it can enrich our understanding of the world around us.
I would invent:
Transporters, like in Star Trek, that beam people to wherever they want to go. Being able to eliminate traffic, time spent commuting, and the exhaust from vehicles would be a pretty sweet invention. I could retire quite comfortably after patenting such a system.
Technology I love:
Touch screens, especially the ones that actually feel like you clicked a button. Ingenious.
And my KitchenAid. It's kind of old-school technology, but cooking and baking have never been the same.
How do you use math in your daily life?:
As a student of science, I use math often for class. I also use statistics in my job. Any time I bake, balance my checkbook, take out a loan, or compare prices, I'm also using math in my daily life.
What technology do you use every day?:
Clocks, computers, the internet, cars, microwave, radio, cell phones, iPod, TV, DVD, light bulbs, and more, more, MORE! There is much for which to be thankful.
Technology that drives me crazy:
QWERTY keypad cell phones. The buttons are too tiny! My clumsy fingers always hit more than the letter for which I'm aiming.
And "universal" remote controls that aren't really universal. I have three "universal" remotes at home. Yes, three.
