100 Hours of Astronomy

April 2-5, 2009

Last December I wrote that 2009 is the International Year of Astronomy (IYA2009). This weekend wraps up an event called 100 hours of Astronomy.

Today, April 5, is SunDay

You can get some ideas about the sun on the Solar Physics Task Group website. The Astronomy Picture of the Day for SunDay, (April 5) is a cool video close-up of our sun.

Around the world in 80 telescopes

A live webcast from 80 different telescopes in 24 hours has now finished, but you can watch recordings from the 80 telescope locations which were archived. If you want to learn more about telescopes and astronomy I recommend watching some of these.
