Cancer-proof mouse

by Gene on Dec. 04th, 2007

Researchers at Kentucky University have bred a mouse which is immune to cancer. The mouse has a gene which produces a protein that fights tumors, but does not harm healthy tissue. This may, in time, lead to new therapies to treat cancer in humans.

Standard disclaimers: The therapy described above has not been applied to humans. It may be years before a treatment is available, if ever. No one at Science Buzz is qualified to give medical advice. No one can give you personalized medical advice over the Internet.
