Because, y’know, if you can’t win an argument through reason, and you can’t win it through fear, you can always fall back on that old standby, force.
I find it interesting that when you look at the numbers, the skepticism about the seriousness of Global Warming is much much greater among people over 30 than those ages 18-29.
Hopefully this means that this issue is one our generation is really taking on, and not something that will become less important to us as we get older.
The less-charitable explanation is that young people are more gullible. ;-)
The more-charitable explanation is that with age comes wisdom. I am going on 50 years old. "Global warming" is at least the fifth or sixth time I've been told the world was about to end. It hasn't ended yet. I'm not holding my breath.
[UPDATE 3/22/09 to include the wise old saying which I forgot. Wisdom comes, but memory leaves. Sorry.]
