PHOTO UPDATE: Oil reaches Louisiana shores
Why do I love the Boston.com photo coverage of environmental disasters? Because a picture's worth a thousand words. Being physically removed from the incident can make it difficult to comprehend the extent of the damage. Don't let the distance or passing time fool you: the Deep Horizon BP oil spill is (present tense!) horrific.
