What a remarkable invention. But if knowledge of this simple and effective technology goes as far back as the 1960's, why hasn't it caught on?
That sheet of plastic is probably the key ingredient. Very simple inventions can make big differences in the lives of these very poor people.

Remember the $5 solar oven that won the climate change challenge? I saw it for sale on a website which calls it a Kyoto Box.
If you still need to cook with a fire, they also have what is called the Kyoto Turbo to make the burning more efficient.
