its so cold!!!

Its so cold out!!! And it snows, but it never lasts, i hate it. I wish it would be warm again! It is so funny how us Minnesotans all ways complain when it is to hot, and say I can't wait for winter to come. But when winter actually arrives, we complain its to cold out. Whats so good about winter anyways? I mean it all ways snows, and it is so cold, and you all ways have to stay inside. yuck.

When it is hot you take off some clothes. When it is cold you put more clothes on. Get yourself a snowmobile suit or what ever. You don't have to stay inside. I know people who stand out on the ice all day looking down a fish hole. They aren't cold because they know how to dress for the outdoors in winter.

while i do like summer more as i enjoy being outside more when it's warmer, there are some fun things about winter in minnesota. how about the st. paul winter carnival? i love to go see the ice sculptures.
and i liked reading the history of the festival, how it was in response to a new york writer who said minnesota was an icebox and 'uninhabitable' in the winter. (as if it's any better in new york during winter)
so the local politicans said we will then celebrate the winter.

The only thing that gets ME through a Minnesota winter is the St. Paul Winter Carnival Medallion hunt.

I start looking forward to it in October, stay up for two weeks straight during the hunt in January, and February (after it's all over) is a total let-down.

It's a great way to learn the history of Ramsey County and to get out and look around at some parks and public places you might otherwise miss. Especially in the winter.

Maybe I'll see some Buzzketeers in line for the paper this year!

you're not alone on that one, i've worked with people who take time off from work so they can do the winter carnival's medallion hunt.

it seems to be the most notable way to have winter fun in minnesota, though going to hockey games is another one.

X-C skiing, snowshoeing, and dog-sledding are three seasonal outdoor activities that make winter something to look forward to.
