Over at Smithsonian.com, biologist Ron Dunn has come up with the top ten deadliest predators of our evolutionary past. Not surprisingly, the number 10 position is filled by the predator that, even today, we Minnesotans (and any tourists who visit our state) are preyed upon by most. Our buzzing predators here are less malicious than they are in other parts of the world, but I still don't like supplying lunch for these suckers.

Adding yet another piece of evidence to the modern debate, the NY Times reports on some science that shows that coffee's positive side. There is one annoying point about this article though. The author regularly refers to a "cup of coffee." How much is that? 12oz? A travel mug full? 5oz.? Need some unit here folks.
